SPRAGUE ENERGY SELECTS SOLARC NATURAL GAS SOLUTION FOR GAS MARKETING
HOUSTON (December 14, 2009) - SolArc (www.SolArc.com), a global provider of commodity supply, trading and risk management software solutions, today announced that Sprague Energy has selected SolArc’s Solution for Natural Gas to support and strengthen its natural gas supply business. Sprague Energy is a leading supplier of energy and materials handling services that provides products including home heating oil, diesel fuels, residual fuels, gasoline and natural gas. Sprague will implement the Natural Gas Solution for deal capture, nominations, scheduling/logistics, billing and risk management.
“With the selection of SolArc’s Natural Gas Solution, Sprague will leverage one vendor for all of our physical operations, from heating oil to natural gas,” said Don Simpson, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Sprague Energy. “We chose SolArc because of its proven delivery and support of the RightAngle solution and our successful relationship. Consolidating with one vendor provides the level of information sharing necessary to lower operating costs, while keeping our prices low and our service level high.”
Sprague has been a SolArc customer for more than five years, using RightAngle to manage their oil trading, marketing and risk management operations. The addition of the SolArc Natural Gas Solution to the existing RightAngle system provides tighter integration across the organization to manage areas that have traditionally been supported with multiple products interfaced together. This single-system approach allows organizations to increase productivity with less IT support and business disruptions.
“We are excited to add Sprague Energy to our growing roster of natural gas customers,” said Alan Gunn, managing director of SolArc's natural gas sales. “Being selected by a company of Sprague Energy's stature and history in the retail energy marketplace affirms our value proposition as a multi-commodity vendor.”
Brad Anderson, founder and CEO of SolArc, added, “We're pleased to extend our relationship with Sprague by delivering our solution for natural gas trading. Our focus at SolArc is to provide solutions that meet the needs of our customers, and we have clearly met that objective as shown by Sprague’s second selection to partner with them. Companies are realizing the importance of implementing integrated solutions to keep pace, and Sprague Energy is leading the way.”
